We are looking for a class teacher for the upcoming school year for grades 4. The role includes 6 hours of music teaching, so a versatile skill set in music education is required. Karisto Basic School is a local school for grades 1-5 in the Karisto area. In the 2026-2027 school year, there are approximately 315 students, 17 teachers, and three teaching assistants. The school is located in the scenic Karisto area near Lake Kymijärvi. The main building, completed in 2010, also houses a daycare in the Karisto Service Center. The school's versatile facilities enable communal and collaborative learning. In our adaptable learning environment, we emphasize active, experiential learning and engaging students in the learning process. Collaboration with preschool and early education is a natural part of our activities. The qualification requirement is a valid teaching qualification for primary education. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree no 986/98 on the qualifications of education personnel. If qualified applicants are not available, the position may be filled by an applicant without formal qualifications. Good proficiency in Finnish is required.
