Job Description

Hello, social or health care professional! We have a fixed-term position available from December until the 26th. You could start immediately or as agreed. Would you like to be part of creating modern, high-quality child protection work in a well-resourced, humor-oriented team of professionals, where company management is involved in daily activities? We are looking for a social and/or health care professional with motivation and interest in working with demanding child protection cases for a fixed-term position as a supervisor. We value good interaction skills, commitment to teamwork, and the ability to set educational boundaries in an adult role. Ehot Oy's operations moved to entirely new premises in the Tuppurala district in summer 2022, following the construction of a new building. The facilities are designed specifically with modern and high-quality child protection in mind. Tuppurala offers good recreational opportunities by the Saimaan lake, excellent transportation links, and is only a few kilometers from Mikkeli market square. The new building includes two residential units: the special care unit Pitkäjärvi, with six client places, and the demanding level residential unit Rauhaniemi, with seven client places. In addition to the residential units, the building has two independent living apartments. The building is designed and constructed to meet the needs and features of modern child protection, without forgetting a homely atmosphere. The special care unit Pitkäjärvi provides individualized and multidisciplinary remedial care and educational work during the special care period. Special care refers to the special, multidisciplinary care and supervision provided to a child over 12 years old in a child welfare institution (Child Welfare Act 7173 §). The goal of special care is to break activities that endanger the child's health and development. The work is guided by the objectives set for the period. Rauhaniemi offers demanding long-term rehabilitation for 12-17-year-olds who require specially supported foster care. Demanding care and supervision include regular visits with a child psychiatry specialist, psychologist, and therapist, as well as intensive self-guidance work. Ehot Oy's demanding rehabilitation includes elements of special care but otherwise resembles regular child welfare work, potentially allowing for a homely, structured, and age-appropriate daily life. Key elements of daily rehabilitation also include schooling and meaningful recreational activities. The supervisor's task is to support the young person in daily activities and schooling, and to collaborate with the young person's family and networks. The supervisor works as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of educational staff, a special education teacher, a therapist, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, and a social worker. At least three, mostly four, staff members from the educational team work simultaneously on each shift in each unit. Successful performance of the supervisor role requires organizational skills, resilience under pressure, and flexibility. Experience in child welfare units and/or substance abuse and mental health work is valued but not mandatory. The qualification requirement is a relevant social or health care education (e.g., nurse, social worker, or rehabilitation instructor). We offer our employees the conditions to perform their work successfully and with high quality, treating each client individually. Support from management, good team spirit, and a modern, pleasant work environment are additional benefits. Everyone is meaningful and part of our shared success story. As an employer, we aim to create excellent conditions to enjoy work as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team. We offer opportunities for professional development, training, and support for voluntary further education. Seize this interesting opportunity and join us in developing the work community! Applicants must present a criminal record extract as required by the law (505/2002) concerning the investigation of crimes related to working with children. The employment contract follows the collective agreement for private social services. Interviews will be held during the application period. The employment start date is immediate or as agreed. You can send a casual application via email to: ville.rouhiainen@ehot.fi For more information about the position, contact CEO Ville Rouhiainen at 050383 0432 or Educational Director Tommi Mustonen at 050535 9543.
