Job Description
The traveling early childhood educator works as a substitute in early childhood education at daycares, filling in for sudden absences and in groups with the greatest need. The primary work location is a predetermined daycare, but the substitute may cover all daycares as needed. The substitute is present where the need is greatest, so the specific child group may not always be known in advance and is often decided on the same morning. The work location may change during the day if a greater need arises elsewhere. Use of a personal car is required for this position. The placement for the substitute is at Santamäki Daycare. The well-being and daily encounters of children and families are important to us. We actively develop our pedagogical approach and quality in early childhood education, with a particular focus on play. We support staff competence through training and actively promote work well-being. Working as a substitute is varied, and we expect the childcare worker to have a positive and flexible attitude and good teamwork skills. Good communication skills and knowledge of early childhood education pedagogy are valued. It is important to us that each child is met individually. The qualification requirement for an early childhood educator is based on the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) section 28. The selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract as per law 504/2002 before starting employment and must approve a health certificate. Salary and employment terms are according to KVTES. A six-month probation period applies. The starting salary is 2501.18 €/month. Kempele municipality offers staff benefits such as ePassi benefits, discounted annual passes for the recreational pool, and a work-related bicycle benefit. Employees can also take advantage of benefits offered by local businesses, including activities and other services. Applications should be submitted electronically via Kuntarekry by June 3, 2026, at 15:00.
