Chief Physician, Mental Health and Addiction Services, Jyväskylä - Keski-Suomen hyvinvointialue - Jyväskylä, Finland

We are currently seeking a Chief Physician for permanent employment in mental health and addiction services for the Central Finland Wellbeing Services County. As a Chief Physician, you will lead addiction work within the Central Finland Wellbeing Services County, with responsibilities including administrative and clinical tasks. You will participate in consultation activities covering the entire region and specialized healthcare, and develop care pathways for addiction patients in collaboration with specialized healthcare, primary health care, and social services. The primary work location is Jyväskylä, with partial remote work options. Psychiatry and mental health and addiction services are integrated under the same administration in Central Finland. Patients have access to the full service chain from basic level to specialized care. We work closely with outpatient health centers. Addiction services are free of charge for the wellbeing services region. The services promote substance abstinence and prevent and treat substance and dependency disorders. They include low-threshold, appointment-free activities, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation, substitution treatment assessment and implementation, and detoxification treatments. Consultative activities and addiction outpatient services in Jyväskylä are concentrated at the Substance Abuse Medicine Clinic, which also has a ward for detoxification and initiation of substitution treatments. We are currently developing equal access to services across the region and providing consultation support to both specialized hospital wards and primary care units. We offer collegial support and good consultation opportunities. Our team includes both psychiatrists and doctors with special competence in addiction medicine.
