Job Description We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are interested in university-level robotics teaching and also in research. The focus of the teaching is robotics technologies, including robotics theory, robot design and manufacturing, and robot software design. In the teaching work, electronics development platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi as well as various commercial industrial and collaborative robots are used. For simulation and (offline) programming of systems, we use various robot software. We utilize various robot manufacturers' own applications as well as open source middleware such as ROS2. Employees are encouraged to actively develop their competence and this is supported, for example, in the form of university pedagogical training provided by the employer. The university teacher's job description is teaching-oriented. The weighting of teaching tasks can partially take into account the person's background. In addition, the tasks include active participation in the administration and development of teaching and the coordination of laboratory work. The tasks also include the supervision of robotics theses and the organization of teaching seminars. Requirements The position of university teacher requires a master's degree (Diplom-insinööri) or a doctorate in automation engineering, mechanical engineering or another suitable field and good teaching skills. In filling the position, practical experience in robotics (design, simulation and programming), previous teaching experience and the ability to produce teaching materials and provide teaching in a versatile manner are valued. We require good Finnish language skills from the applicant. The ability to provide high-quality teaching and supervise theses in Finnish and, if necessary, in English. Success in the position also requires good organizational and cooperation skills. For the teaching-oriented position, the selected candidates are required to have at least 10 ECTS of university pedagogical studies, or equivalent studies. If the selected person has not completed these studies at the start of the employment, the studies must be completed within two years of the start of the employment. We Offer The position is filled permanently starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement. There is a six-month probationary period in the position. Remuneration is based on the demandingness of the tasks and personal performance at work according to the university salary system. The university teacher position is at the demandingness levels 5-6 of the teaching and research staff. In addition, a salary component based on personal performance at work is paid.
