Hello, special education teacher in early childhood education! The early childhood education department of the City of Kotka is hiring three permanent special education teachers starting from August 1, 2026. The role focuses on preschools and pre-primary education in Karhula, Kotkansaari, and Länsi-Kotka preschools and pre-primary classes. The working hours are regular hours, 38.25 hours per week. The job involves supporting early pedagogy, providing expertise and coordination in early childhood education and pre-primary education, in collaboration with early childhood education staff. Active peer and development networks support the work. In Kotka, early childhood education includes pre-primary education and serves approximately 1,570 children. Qualifications and salary We are looking for early childhood special education teachers who have the qualification according to law 540/2018 and studies providing professional competence in special education (Decree 608/2005) or a Master’s degree in Education with a major in special pedagogy (special education teacher training). The position requires a health statement regarding respiratory tuberculosis, in accordance with section 55 of the Infectious Diseases Act. The tuberculosis questionnaire will be completed during the application process. The questionnaire is provided by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, along with interpretation instructions. The salary is based on the OVTES collective agreement, with a level salary of €3,375.22 per month. The employer may apply a recruitment bonus in this recruitment. The position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. Applying and interviews Interviews may be conducted during the application period.
