The City of Laitila announces a vacancy for a permanent Sports and Youth Coordinator position starting from September 1, 2026, or as agreed. This is a new role as part of the organizational reform of leisure services. The Sports and Youth Coordinator role combines youth services and coordination of the city's sports activities. Responsibilities include customer service, managing and developing daily operations of youth and sports departments, planning and organizing youth and sports events in collaboration with other staff, and working with various stakeholders such as clubs, associations, schools, and the wellbeing region. The coordinator's task is to ensure that both sports and youth services meet the needs of residents and are accessible. The Sports and Youth Coordinator will be part of the leisure services team together with the library and culture coordinator and the head of leisure services. The work may include occasional evening shifts, weekend work, and regional travel. A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required. We are looking for a proactive, responsible, enthusiastic, flexible, committed team member with a development-oriented approach and good interpersonal skills. The qualification requirement is a suitable higher university degree, good familiarity with sports or youth services, sufficient knowledge of the other area, and municipal administration. The employment terms are based on the KVTES collective agreement. The working hours are 36.25 hours per week. A 6-month probationary period applies. The selected candidate must provide a medical certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children within 30 days of the decision.
