We are looking for an experienced machinist for versatile and demanding tasks in heavy industry for our client in Tampere. You will work with large components, such as ship propellers and turbines for hydroelectric power plants. The work involves machining large and heavy parts, with individual pieces weighing up to 30 tons. You will operate large lathes (up to 10 meters of work length) and horizontal machining centers. Tasks may include various machining operations and working with different machines according to production needs. You may work on turbines for hydroelectric power plants and other large components. Programming is done remotely with Siemens controls, so actual programming skills are not required, but the ability to read and modify programs is considered an advantage. What kind of person are we looking for? We are seeking someone with: - Experience in handling and machining large and heavy parts - Skills in turning or horizontal machining centers - Ability to read and modify machining programs if needed - Finnish language skills - Independent and responsible work attitude We especially value experience in machining large components and a versatile background in machine shop work.
