We are hiring for a fixed-term position as an Early Childhood Education Childcare Worker at Soittajankangas Daycare from August 3, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The position initially involves working with a 5-6-year-old group. The early childhood education childcare worker participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating group activities together with the team. Soittajankangas is a five-group daycare with a skilled and cheerful staff. Our daycare implements half-day outdoor pedagogy, and nature education is close to our hearts. Our staff are innovative and enthusiastic. Qualifications for the early childhood education childcare worker include compliance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018, Section 28), considering the transitional provisions for personnel under the same act (Section 75). A basic degree in social and health care is required, with studies focused on children and youth. Additionally, positive pedagogical skills and implementation are required. The position also requires teamwork skills, resilience under pressure, and flexibility. Experience in supporting children with special needs is considered an advantage. The salary for the early childhood education childcare worker is based on the job-specific pay system and levels of competence and responsibility, ranging from €2,456.83 to €2,567.07. The actual salary consists of the job-specific pay and any other levels according to the Collective Agreement for Municipal Employees (KVTES). Before starting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract issued in accordance with the Act on Background Checks of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). According to the Infectious Diseases Act (Section 55), the employer is responsible for requiring a reliable statement from the employee or intern/student before starting work, confirming they do not have active tuberculosis of the respiratory system. This must be done before signing the employment contract. The position is subject to a trial period. Applications are primarily submitted via the electronic application form.
