Come and do meaningful and preventive work in student welfare among children and young people! The Eastern Uusimaa Welfare Area is seeking a PSYCHOLOGIST IN STUDENT WELFARE for a permanent position. The work begins on 10.8.2026 or by agreement. The position is located in the Swedish-speaking educational institutions within the Eastern Uusimaa Welfare Area. The psychologist is an important and valued expert in schools and plays a central role in support services for children and young people. The work as a psychologist in student welfare requires teamwork skills, the ability to organize one's own work, and the ability to work independently as a representative of the profession. You will become part of a friendly team of psychologists working in student welfare. The psychologist's tasks in student welfare focus on supporting the mental well-being of students, assessing learning conditions, and supporting learning in collaboration with schools and educational institutions. Newly graduated psychologists have the opportunity to develop their professional skills in a multidisciplinary team, while more experienced psychologists can utilize their expertise broadly in diverse tasks. Working in students' daily lives and following the school calendar makes the work in student welfare rewarding. In student welfare, you follow the development of children and young people over the long term and work preventively, as the school day constitutes a large part of their daily life. The balance in the work comes from meeting students in various situations. The work allows the use of all psychological knowledge, and a broad approach also develops skills. We support education and learning in the work and organize further training to support the tasks. Occupational health services are managed by Mehiläinen. Qualifications required are those of a psychologist according to the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94), with a license to practice as a qualified health care professional under the same law (JulkiTerhikki). Good oral and written skills in Swedish are required. Knowledge of Finnish is considered an asset. Employment terms follow the collective agreement for the social and health sector (SH agreement). A six-month probation period applies. The working hours are 37.75 hours per week. The task-related salary is 4376.75 euros/month. Vaccination against infectious diseases as per § 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and tuberculosis screening as per § 55 of the Communicable Diseases Act are required. The selected person must present a criminal background check issued within the law on background checks for persons working with children (504/2002) before starting.
