The job involves maintaining and operating equipment used in micro- and nanofabrication cleanrooms at Tampere University. The specialist will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of cleanroom equipment used in semiconductor, photonics, and medical technology manufacturing. The role includes working with researchers, equipment manufacturers, and their representatives, as well as developing the cleanroom environment, providing training, and other tasks as needed. The position is based at Hervanta campus in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, ENRE laboratory team. The candidate must have education in physics, photonics, electrical engineering, automation, or a related field, with practical experience in cleanroom and laboratory work. Multidisciplinary technical skills and experience with thin film deposition, etching, lithography, vacuum equipment, and electrical devices are advantageous. The role requires self-direction, problem-solving skills, good communication in Finnish and English, and basic IT skills.
