The City of Riihimäki is seeking a primary school teacher for special education (vacancy 4440) for a permanent position starting August 1, 2026. The placement school is Lasitehtaan School. Students and adults at Lasitehtaan School are expecting a versatile classroom teacher for 5th grade. We require strong pedagogical skills as well as good interaction and teamwork skills. Experience and interest in teaching various skills and arts subjects are considered an advantage. We also value the ability to teach robotics and interest in leading a robotics club. We offer a small, energetic work community where the entire school fosters growth and is ready to take on tasks towards common goals. The school has approximately 120 students. Its strengths include a location in a peaceful and pleasant area, good outdoor and sports facilities, and proximity to the city center. The selected candidate must have the qualifications required by the decree on personnel in education (986/1998) for primary school teachers. The salary for qualified teachers is €3,109.73 per month, plus a TVA supplement of €208.84 per month. It is also possible to receive an annual supplement based on work experience and other allowances for specific duties. The selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Criminal Background Check of Persons Working with Children and Young People (504/2002).
