Riihikoski Combined School is a school with approximately 370 students. The school's facilities and environment offer excellent opportunities for teaching, other activities, and development. Riihikoski Combined School is announcing a fixed-term position for a primary school teacher (substitute positions, acting as assistant principal if needed) for the period 1.8.2026-31.7.2027. The fixed-term nature is based on a decrease in the need for teachers due to declining birth rates and smaller age groups. The successful applicant is expected to have versatile pedagogical skills, excellent knowledge and use of information and communication technology in teaching, the ability to work independently and develop teaching and curricula. Good collaboration, interaction, and teamwork skills, as well as a development-oriented approach, are also valued. Qualifications for primary school teachers are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/1998), and general appointment criteria for public offices under the Finnish Constitution (731/1999, section 125.2) are also applicable. Salary and employment terms are governed by the General Collective Agreement for the Municipal Sector and the Collective Agreement for Educational Staff in the Municipal Sector. Before appointment, the selected candidate must submit an acceptable medical certificate of health and a criminal record extract as required by law (504/2002) concerning working with children. A six-month probationary period applies to the fixed-term position.
