Job Description

A company with a heart Expandia exists to help schools, housing, and companies manage the unexpected. We offer temporary premises built with the same quality as permanent ones, designed for reuse. We believe this is why we have become one of the leading providers of temporary premises in the Nordics. Are you looking for a broad and genuinely responsible role in a growing international company? Expandia Moduulit Oy is seeking a Junior Financial Controller with an accounting background for a permanent position. The start date is as soon as possible. The role is based in Finland, but you will work closely with the Nordic group’s finance team. You will independently manage the financial administration of the Finnish companies (Expandia Moduulit Oy and Expandia Kiinteistöt Oy) and play a key role in supporting business operations. You will report directly to the CEO of Expandia Moduulit Oy. As a Junior Financial Controller, you will handle accounting and monthly closings, actively participate in budget monitoring and financial reporting. Your responsibilities include cost and variance analysis, ensuring data accuracy across systems, and supporting the organization. This is a developmental role emphasizing internal controls. What does the role include? Your responsibilities will include: - Accounting, monthly closings, and financial statements - Purchase and sales ledgers and invoicing - Payments and cash management - VAT and other regulatory reporting - Payroll administration and related reporting - Account reconciliations and allocations - Customer and supplier management (e.g., setup and monitoring) - Reminders and debt collection processes You will also participate in project accounting tasks: - Setting up and monitoring projects - Allocating costs and tracking project profitability In addition to operational tasks, you will produce financial reports for the group and participate in financial development. You will gradually deepen your expertise in areas such as cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. You will also play a central role in using financial systems (e.g., Procountor and Business Central) and collaborate with the group’s finance team, auditors, and other stakeholders. This role is not solely focused on reporting or analysis but requires a strong hands-on approach and readiness to handle smaller, yet critical, daily financial tasks. We expect: - Several years of practical experience in accounting, including financial statements and overall financial management - Some experience in financial reporting and understanding of overall business finance, with a desire to develop into a controller role - A strong hands-on approach, initiative, and proactivity - A relevant higher education degree (AMK or university) - Fluent Finnish and English skills; Swedish language skills are considered an advantage (daily cooperation with the group) Additional advantages include: - Experience in project business and knowledge of construction or modular industry - Versatile system skills in financial tools and interest in development We hope you are precise and thorough, comfortable in a practical role, and eager to contribute ideas for development. You understand the importance of financial figures for business and are interested in supporting business operations. What does the role offer? A versatile and responsible role in a growing company, with opportunities to influence your work and develop along with the company. The role offers a pathway to broader Financial Controller responsibilities. You will work in an international environment as part of the Nordic organization. The position is hybrid, offering flexibility for daily work. Initially, you will work at the office in Vantaa and later in Nurmijärvi 1-2 times a week. The package includes comprehensive employee benefits, including occupational health services, lunch and wellness benefits, and staff events. Interested? About the company Creating space for life — even when needs change Expandia is one of the Nordic leaders in temporary space solutions, with over 35 years of experience, especially serving the public sector. We deliver quickly deployable, high-quality modular spaces for schools, daycares, healthcare, and housing — situations where continuous service is essential without delay. Our extensive modular range enables fast deliveries and flexible solutions in changing circumstances, such as relocation needs, expanding service networks, or during renovations. Our solutions match the quality, functionality, and comfort of permanent buildings. Wooden structures are recyclable and support lifecycle thinking. This makes them a cost-effective and responsible way for municipalities and welfare areas to manage space needs without heavy and slow investments. At the core of our operations are people — users of the spaces, staff, and residents. We believe well-designed spaces support learning, care, work, and living. That’s why we build environments where everyday life functions smoothly and people feel comfortable.
