Job Description

Would you like to do meaningful work with young people and be involved in organizing activities for youth? We are hiring several fixed-term and part-time evening supervisors for youth centers and group activities for the 2026–2027 season (periods 31.8.2026 – 16.12.2026 and 11.1.2027- 29.4.2027). Hämeenlinna city operates a total of nine (9) youth centers. Some are located in the city center and others in the districts (Hauho, Lammi, Renko, and Iittala). The working hours for evening supervisors at youth centers vary flexibly depending on opening hours (mainly 16–20, two evenings a week) and group activities (special and sports groups once a week). The salary is paid monthly based on part-time hours, plus evening allowances. Travel reimbursement is paid to district youth center supervisors from the city center. As an evening supervisor at a youth center, you will plan and implement meaningful activities for young people together with other supervisors and youth. You will establish contact with each young person during activities and promote a positive and safe environment. You will actively participate in joint activities. You will supervise and enforce rules and ensure smooth use of the facilities. The role requires good communication skills and a desire to work with young people. You should be able to meet young people individually and respectfully. You are approachable, trustworthy, fair, and honest as a colleague. Salary: The task-specific salary is €2112.42/month, which is used to calculate the part-time salary. In addition, the position includes evening and other allowances according to the collective agreement. Qualifications, permits, and certificates: The qualification requirement is education in youth, social, or educational fields, or being a student in these fields, or relevant work experience or interest in working with youth. The selected candidate must also present a criminal record extract as required by law (504/2002) for working with children.
