We respect children’s and young people’s own opinions and experiences. Kangasala is seeking a school assistant for a permanent position starting 4 August 2026. The position is located at Vatiala School, in grades 1-6 general education classes. Vatiala School is a modern, community-oriented learning center for grades 0-9 in Vatiala, Kangasala. The school has about 525 students and its activities are based on student-centeredness, equality, and a calm, health-promoting everyday life. New, bright facilities and diverse learning environments—including small groups, Silta- and POP-teaching, and preschool—enable flexible, inclusive, and individualized teaching. The school has an active participation culture, strong traditions of cooperation between home and school, and a variety of recreational and sports opportunities. Its central location near nature and good transportation links support learning and a safe school day. The staff is committed and development-oriented. The duties include working in grades 1-6 according to annual needs. The assistant also helps during craft and physical education lessons. We expect applicants to be flexible, autonomous, proactive, and cooperative with multiple stakeholders. The work is team-based with other professionals in the same group. The role involves guiding students during lessons and possibly after-school activities. Success in the role also requires IT skills.
