The Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology conducts high-quality multidisciplinary research and teaching in biomedicine, biotechnology, medicine, and health technology. We perform internationally significant basic and applied research. The Foundation for Pediatric Research has played a significant role in elevating Finnish pediatric research to the top of the world. It has donated a total of 1.35 million euros to universities in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Oulu, and Eastern Finland to fund pediatric researchers, ensuring that clinicians can engage in scientific research. With this donation, we are seeking one or two part-time clinical researchers for a fixed-term one-year position. The tasks are filled as university researcher roles. The position can be part-time or intermittent, with research work accounting for 20–50% of total working hours per year. The aim is to enable the combination of clinical work and research, focusing on pediatric, pediatric neurology, pediatric surgery, child psychiatry, or adolescent psychiatry. The work involves clinical work at the Tampere University Hospital or other health care units, with details agreed separately. Requirements include a medical doctorate, evidence of independent research post-PhD, ability to lead a research group and secure additional funding, proficiency in Finnish and English, and good collaboration skills. The position starts on September 1, 2026, or as agreed, with a salary based on the university's collective agreement, with a preliminary level of 6-7.
