Childcare Assistant in Early Childhood Education, Westends Daycare - Espoon kaupunki - Espoo, Finland

You will be employed by the City of Espoo and start at Westends Daycare in the Sjölejon group with 14 children aged 4-5 years. You will work alongside a teacher and a childcare assistant. You will serve as an additional resource in the group, enabling the division of children into smaller groups during activities. Your duties include care and supervision tasks, participating in cooperation with guardians, and planning, implementing, and evaluating activities with colleagues in the team. Upon starting, you will be assigned a mentor who will introduce you to your tasks to ensure a smooth beginning. We have a clear structure for meetings and planning times, and childcare assistants are allocated time for planning and preparing pedagogical activities. Two daycare aides assist with daily routines, such as hanging wet clothes and setting tables, allowing you to focus on the children. Westends Daycare is a Swedish-speaking facility with 7 groups located in two buildings on the same site. Four groups include children aged 1-3 years, and three groups include children aged 4-5 years. We regularly explore the diverse surroundings, including forest, sea, sand area, and accessible locations like Mattby and Hagalund.
