Job Description
Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences offer a multidisciplinary environment for high-impact research and education in photonics, health, and society. The university community is part of Europe's dynamic photonics ecosystem, with access to advanced optical laboratories and nanofabrication facilities. The MetaPhotonics Group at Tampere University is exploring how light can be controlled at the nanometre scale – smaller than the wavelength of light itself. We seek a motivated doctoral researcher to develop next-generation photonic technologies through metasurfaces, nonlinear nanophotonics, and quantum light–matter interactions. The candidate will gain expertise in computational design, nanofabrication, and experimental optics, focusing on metasurfaces, strong-field nanophotonics, nanoscale optical isolators, and quantum nanophotonics. The position is full-time, fixed-term for three years, with a salary around EUR 3000/month. Benefits include occupational health care, flexible hours, sports facilities, and staff discounts.
