Job Description

Based on the Youth Act (1285/2016), the outreach youth work aims to reach young people in need of support and help them access services and other support that promote their growth, independence, participation in society, and overall life management, as well as access to education and the labor market. The outreach youth worker's task is to reach, guide, and support under 29-year-olds in matters related to life management, well-being, studies, and working life, in accordance with the client's own goals. The role involves social empowerment of the client through accompaniment. The responsibilities include: - Engaging with young people - Individual support and guidance to various services - Small group work - Development work, documentation, communication - Networking and teamwork The job requires good cooperation and interaction skills, initiative, knowledge of the service network, presentation skills, responsibility, and self-direction. It is essential to be able to meet and respect young people in difficult life situations. Skills in assessing clients' resources and social situations, as well as motivation and guidance skills, are also important. The role includes developing outreach youth work, which involves planning, evaluation, communication, and documentation tasks in collaboration with other outreach youth workers and responsible persons. The position requires good capabilities for independent work and the ability to report on outreach youth work. The outreach work also involves some fieldwork. The work is mainly daytime, with evening and weekend work possible by agreement. A driving license and the ability to use a personal car are necessary due to the nature of the work. The position is permanent, starting on August 1, 2026. The qualification requirement is adequate education, e.g., in youth, social, or health sectors, and experience working with young people. Knowledge of outreach youth work, a solution-focused approach, and digital skills are valued. A criminal record extract according to section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act must be presented by the selected candidate. Salary is according to KVTES. A 4-month probation period applies in the recruitment process. Some applicants will be invited for an interview, which will be held on June 18, 2026.
