Job Description
As a software developer, you will focus on developing digital solutions for forestry machines with a strong emphasis on cloud technology. You will participate in the full development cycle of the team, from application design to production deployment and maintenance. The role is suitable for early-career professionals; motivation and genuine interest in developing versatile skills are key. The work is hybrid, with the team working both on-site at the office and remotely. You will develop innovative software solutions used by customers globally 24/7 in operational environments. You will work with experienced experts in a global and innovative environment using agile methods. Work Tasks You will work closely with the John Deere Forestry Digital Solutions team, utilizing your skills especially in developing cloud platforms and applications. - Design, development, and maintenance of digital solutions on cloud platforms - Development of integrations and interfaces between onboard/edge devices and cloud systems - Implementation of backend solutions (data transfer, processing, analytics, and database solutions) - Architecture design and conceptualization in collaboration with the chief architect We are looking for - A suitable educational background in software engineering (you may also be in the final stages of your studies) - Practical programming skills and broad interest in various software technologies (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala). Enthusiasm to learn new programming languages, methods, and tools. - Understanding of cloud technologies and software development in cloud environments (e.g., AWS or Azure) - Knowledge of backend development, microservices, and APIs - Fluent Finnish and English language skills - Self-directed working style and ability to quickly grasp new concepts Preferred qualifications: - Interest or previous experience in data analytics and AI solutions To succeed in this role, you should be: - Change-oriented and goal-driven team player - Responsible and meticulous in your work - Curious and motivated to continuously develop your skills Recruitment Process Academic Work handles this recruitment on behalf of the client, who prefers all questions related to the position to be directed to Academic Work.
