Development Engineer - Terrafame Oy - Sotkamo, Finland

We are hiring a development engineer at Terrafame in Sotkamo to strengthen the uranium recovery organization on a permanent basis. The work begins as soon as possible according to the agreement, and it is a day shift. Partial remote work is possible. As a development engineer in uranium recovery, you will be responsible for the functionality, development, and supervision of uranium recovery. You will play an important role in supporting production, ensuring the process operates safely, efficiently, and according to goals. You will work closely with the production organization, R&D, laboratory, and plant services. Your tasks include analyzing, designing, and instructing on liquid-liquid extraction and precipitation processes, as well as participating in the development of new products. Continuous improvement of processes and operating models supports our strategic goal to increase safety, efficiency, and responsibility. You will participate in development projects, implement new solutions to support uranium production, and assist in projects related to new product design. You will also play a key role in instructing, training, and enhancing the skills of production operators. Requirements include a higher university degree in chemistry or process engineering, at least 2-3 years of experience in similar tasks, a development-oriented and systematic work approach, good collaboration and interaction skills, fluent Finnish language skills, and excellent IT skills. Experience in ionizing radiation is considered an advantage.
