The researcher will work on a project focused on advances in generalized Bayesian inference using differential-geometric methods, supervised by Marcelo Hartmann and Luu Hoang Phuc Hau. The project involves developing computational algorithms grounded in information geometry and Riemannian geometry to improve Bayesian inference and machine learning methods, with applications in scientific research and societal challenges. The position includes conducting doctoral studies to complete a PhD thesis within four years, with possible teaching duties up to 5%. The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science, with experience in probabilistic machine learning, neural networks, statistical inference, and programming languages such as Python, Julia, R, or Matlab.
