Would you like to do meaningful, valuable, and important work by helping another person? Are you interested in varied working hours and diversity? I am looking for a personal assistant who has time to meet my needs and wishes to live a full and meaningful life in my own way. Would you like to help me live my life by assisting with daily activities and enabling me to do so both at home and outside? I am a man over 60 years old, paraplegic, and seeking a proactive personal assistant. No formal training is required for the job; it is learned by doing. A qualification in practical nursing or other healthcare education, studies in the field, or previous experience as an assistant is an advantage. Tasks include dressing/undressing, transfers to wheelchair or other devices, which will be explained by my physiotherapist. Assistance with showering and toilet visits, other intimate hygiene, and minor care tasks or support are also involved. Basic household chores and supporting a normal life are naturally part of the job. In short, you are my "hands and feet" for tasks I would otherwise do myself. Good Finnish language skills are essential, as the working language is Finnish. NOTE: Applications in English will not be considered; the working language is Finnish. Working hours are approximately 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The 8-hour workday is divided into three shifts: morning, daytime, and evening, based on my needs, as I am quite independent despite my disability. The nature of the work and tasks will be explained better during the interview. Also, other aspects will be discussed to help you understand why the working hours are set this way and the benefits of this arrangement. Living in the Lahti city center area or nearby is an advantage for commuting, or having your own car is also beneficial if you live farther away. There may also be minor travel involved at some point, such as visiting friends, relatives, or events, and it would be nice if you could join me to help during these trips. Hours will be calculated based on travel time and adjusted as soon as possible.
