Job Description
You will work as an information service secretary in the material services at the Parliament Library, which is part of the Parliament's information support unit together with the Parliament archive and information services. Your main task is to catalog the printed library materials transferred from the Finnish Institute of International Affairs to the collection of the Parliament Library and to make them searchable in the Parliament Library's collection database Selma. You will ensure that the metadata generated during cataloging meets national description standards and adheres to the quality criteria set by the Parliament Library. Additionally, you will serve as a duty officer in the library's material services when needed. Your duties include locating and ordering necessary materials, receiving and processing incoming materials, and preparing materials for use. The duty shift also involves logistical tasks supporting customer service, such as shelving returned loans and collecting reserved materials.
