Job Description
At Shopify, we're not just building software — we're revolutionizing how the world does business. The Product Legal Team counsels the business units responsible for developing and building Shopify’s products and services. We provide legal support on new products across different verticals. Our work is challenging, varied, and constantly evolving. We are looking for a strategic, passionate, and product-forward senior product lawyer who is energized by working closely with product and engineering teams, understanding data flows, and providing practical, business-oriented legal advice. The role involves advising on complex legal issues, managing large projects, and building collaborative relationships across teams. Requirements include a law degree, license to practice in the US or Canada, 7+ years of relevant legal experience, and substantial experience counseling product teams on privacy, consumer protection, and compliance. Bonus experience includes advertising-related product counseling and high-growth tech environments.
