The Lapland Welfare Area is seeking a Chief Physician for a permanent position in primary health care. Start date negotiable. The Chief Physician of primary health care leads the work of doctors in a specifically defined geographical area and acts as a direct supervisor for the area's chief physicians and responsible doctors. The Chief Physician also has sector-specific responsibilities in medical management. There are four Chief Physician positions in the primary health care of the Lapland Welfare Area, working under the responsibility of a unit manager and alongside senior nurses. Qualifications include the right to practice medicine as a licensed healthcare professional under the Act on Healthcare Professionals (559/1994) §4 and specialist medical qualification in a relevant specialty. The role requires good understanding and experience in primary health care. Previous leadership experience in healthcare is also considered an advantage. Salary and employment terms are determined according to the Medical Agreement. The position includes a 6-month probation period. We follow the vaccination requirements mandated by the law on infectious diseases and employment. The employer also has the right to request and verify a drug test certificate (13.8.2004/759 §7).
