Practical Nurse, Elderly Services, Residential Services, Aftonro - Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue - Pargas, Finland

Aftonro is a 24-hour residential unit for the elderly located in Norrby, Iniö. You will work in a unit with 8 client places, and there are also 10 service apartments connected to it. The building is situated in the village center, and local associations visit occasionally. Food is prepared in the building, and during the school year, students dine at Aftonro. The unit also serves as a base for home care and home nursing, and your work will include some home care tasks. You will work with practical nurses and a nurse as part of a multidisciplinary team. As a practical nurse, you are responsible for providing services to clients using a rehabilitative approach. Your daily tasks include basic care and medication management for residents, as well as supporting their functional capacity, participation, and daily well-being. Your workday also includes planning and implementing recreational and hobby activities. You will take turns acting as the responsible nurse during shifts, overseeing smooth organization, communication, documentation, and reporting. You will work closely with relatives and other parties involved in the care and well-being of residents. Tasks at Aftonro also include laundry and cleaning. The work involves three-shift rotation. You will receive individual orientation to your work and support and assistance from the entire staff if needed. You have a driver’s license and are willing to travel for home care visits. Experience in caring for people with memory disorders and valid LOVE skills are appreciated, but you can also complete these at the start of employment through the employer. The unit is bilingual, and therefore good oral and written skills in Finnish or Swedish are required, as well as at least satisfactory skills in the other language. The qualification requirement is a basic degree in social and health care (practical nurse) or an equivalent school-level qualification in the field, along with a valid registration in the JulkiTerhikki and JulkiSuosikki registers.
