Consultant (CTC4) - UNU - Remote - Global

The United Nations University (UNU) is a global think tank and postgraduate teaching organization within the United Nations System. UNU engages in policy-relevant research, capacity development, and knowledge dissemination in furtherance of the purposes and principles of the United Nations. The work of UNU contributes to solving pressing global problems that are the concern of the United Nations and its Member States. UNU-IAS, based in Tokyo, focuses on sustainability, governance, biodiversity, water management, and innovation. The incumbent will facilitate collaboration among higher education networks, organize activities, support outreach, and coordinate with UN and other partners to promote SDGs and sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting SDG-UP activities, outreach, communication, and the HESI global forum, as well as fostering inter-network knowledge sharing. The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields, at least six years of experience (or three with a master’s), and excellent communication skills in Japanese and English. The contract duration is from June 2026 to March 2027, with a daily fee of JPY 23,700. The position is on-site in Tokyo, Japan.
