Kurjenraitti is a unit for child residential care and temporary care, providing enhanced 24/7 supported housing and temporary care for minors with developmental disabilities. The client group includes children with challenging behaviour and severely disabled children with special needs. Since parental custody remains with the parents, our work focuses on close, open and trusting cooperation with the children’s parents. In addition, we collaborate across disciplines with educational institutions and health services. Our goal is safe, high-quality daily life and living arrangements that meet individual needs. Your tasks include: caring for residents’ health and well-being together with the child’s parents; planning and implementing everyday living, housing and leisure activities; housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry and cooking; basic and medication care; documenting in Saga and OMNI360 client information systems. What we expect from you: you are a licensed practical nurse (social welfare) or practical nurse; you have a hygienic pass and have completed LOVe medication administration online assessment during your probation; additional AHHA competence is a plus; experience with challenging behaviour in developmentally disabled children and youth; solution-focused approach and good social and interaction skills. You may start in a permanent employment as agreed, but we hope you can start as soon as possible. The working hours are full time, about 38 h 15 min per week, including morning, evening and night shifts. A six-month probation applies. A criminal record extract as per the Criminal Records Act 6 §:2 must be presented before starting work. The chosen candidate must have vaccination protection in accordance with the Infectious Diseases Act 1227/2016 § 48.
