Job Description
Pilke gently guides children on their learning journey. Our early childhood education includes learning through play and gentle interaction. We are now looking for a Cook at Pilke Nature Daycare Soittajankangas in Oulu, starting from August 3, 2026. As a Cook, you will be responsible for the overall management of the daycare's kitchen and cleanliness. Your tasks include preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks. You will also ensure compliance with the kitchen's self-monitoring plan. Ordering supplies and staying within the food budget are essential parts of your role. Tasks also include cleaning and dishwashing. The Cook plays an important role in creating a good day for the children. If you understand this and approach your work with heart, this position is suitable for you. We expect a positive, active, and developmental attitude towards work. Everyone at our workplace is encouraged to share ideas. You should have good communication skills and the ability to genuinely connect with children. You are an important part of the daily life of children and your colleagues. We require: - Relevant education for the position (basic qualification in food services, large-scale cook, etc.) or experience in similar roles, - Finnish language skills, - Knowledge of special diets, - Hygiene passport, - Ability to perform physical work, - Organizational skills, - Basic IT skills, - Ability to work independently, and - The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract according to section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act and a salmonella certificate before starting employment.
