Chief Social Counselor, Support Relationship Services - Helsingin kaupunki - Helsinki, Finland

Helsingin kaupunki is launching professional support person activities on 1.9.2026. We are now seeking a chief social counselor to act as the supervisor of professional support persons. The work is situated within children's social welfare services and operates throughout the city. The role involves supporting 12-17-year-olds in daily life and helping them cope with challenges. It is a fixed-term, rehabilitative, and preparatory work that is planned and goal-oriented. The objectives are set in collaboration with the child, their family, and social work, with progress reviewed every three months. The work promotes the young person's functional capacity, life skills, and participation. It is activity-based and involves concrete learning of new skills in the young person's environment, considering the whole family and network. The work is carried out across the city, including evening hours, with a travel card provided as a benefit. The chief social counselor acts as the immediate supervisor of support persons, responsible for management and development of activities in collaboration with the head of child and family services. The role begins on 3.8.2026, with the team starting on 1.9.2026. The team is new, offering immediate influence and development opportunities. Interviews are scheduled in Hakaniemi on 3.6.2026 from 11:00 to 13:00 and 10.6.2026 from 09:00 to 11:00.
