The Youth Worker role involves guiding and mentoring young people at Metsäkangas youth activity center and coordinating multi-professional well-being work with schools and neighborhoods. Target groups at the youth center are fourth to sixth graders and older youths in upper secondary education. The center uses animal-assisted activities with trained dogs participating at scheduled times. The person in this role leads the Metsäkangas area team, coordinating internal cooperation, activity plans, and appropriate distribution of working time. The team includes youth center staff as well as school youth workers and activity instructors from Kärpänen and Salpausselkä schools, and serves as the contact person in regional youth well-being work. The job requires the ability to engage youths as a safe adult. We expect experience in municipal youth work and at least upper secondary qualification in youth work or an AMK degree in community pedagogy. Strong communication, collaboration, coordination, initiative, and responsible, development-oriented attitude are essential. You will also have opportunities to run holiday, excursion, and camp activities and participate in the joint development of Youth Services.
