Job Description
HUS Consortium is one of Finland's largest procurement units, responsible for joint procurements within the South Finland cooperation area. HUS Procurement handles centralized procurement processes, supplier management, and contract management. Annually, over 500 procurements of healthcare supplies, medical devices, and services are conducted in collaboration with healthcare professionals. We are a development-oriented procurement unit aiming for high quality and customer service. We are a respected partner in social and healthcare procurement services and a leader in the sector. We are now seeking a Procurement Manager for procurement services. HUS Procurement is organized according to a category model. The Procurement Manager works within the Service and Primary Healthcare category group, responsible for approximately 21 subcategories, procurement planning, customer collaboration, and contract and supplier management. The category group also coordinates cooperation with well-being service regions. Annually, about 140 procurements are planned or executed, with an estimated total value of nearly 200 million euros. The category includes thousands of active contracts, and ongoing procurement activities include price change proposals, supplier meetings, and complaints. The Procurement Manager is the supervisor of the staff working across the category group and is responsible for operational leadership and managing their own subcategories. The team includes procurement specialists, a senior procurement specialist, a category manager, and procurement secretaries. In addition to leadership and operational management, the Procurement Manager plans procurements within their subcategories and manages contracts during their term. Close collaboration is maintained with stakeholders such as healthcare professionals, suppliers, and internal experts. Strategic procurement planning is emphasized, supported by HUS procurement’s own tendering team, legal advisors, and development team. A key goal for 2026 is to implement supplier management and leadership across HUS within the category group. Key responsibilities include: Leadership and operational management of the category group, Reporting on activities and results to management, Preparing for upcoming procurements in line with strategic priorities and procurement legislation, Supporting procurement processes, Contract management, monitoring, and supplier collaboration, Analyzing and developing procurement processes (quality, cost-efficiency, sustainability), Participating in procurement leadership groups and the procurement managers’ group. Our procurements are large in volume, strategically significant, and diverse in content. They serve various units and offer challenges and opportunities for success from multiple perspectives. We expect from you: A suitable higher education degree (e.g., in business, law, technical field, or healthcare), Experience in public procurement, Experience in leadership and/or operational management, Good negotiation and communication skills, Analytical and systematic working style, Fluent Finnish language skills, both written and spoken; English skills are an advantage. We hope you have excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, good IT skills, and independent problem-solving ability. The ability to quickly learn new things is valued. We also appreciate accuracy, resilience under pressure, and enthusiasm for public procurement. You communicate fluently in Finnish, both orally and in writing. In this role, you will have friendly colleagues and interesting, diverse tasks. The working hours are flexible, and we offer good remote work opportunities. The position is temporary, covering parental leave, and lasts for the duration of the parental leave. The expected start date is August 13, 2026. The position is subject to a 6-month probation period. An initial health check will be conducted. The work begins as agreed. We may start interviews during the application period.
