Expert (Enforcement Unit) - Rikosseuraamuslaitos

The Enforcement Unit (TPY) is a national unit responsible for customer processes, overseeing the formal enforcement of prison sentences and international enforcement tasks. The unit consists of four teams: three handle national enforcement tasks, and one handles international enforcement. Staff are based in Turku, Kuopio, Vantaa, and Oulu. The main responsibilities of the international enforcement team include transfers of prison sentences and community sanctions between Finland, the Nordic countries, and EU member states. The team also drafts Nordic detention orders and submits European detention requests to prosecutors. The team collaborates closely with foreign authorities. The international enforcement team includes a lawyer/team leader, two senior specialists, and two specialists. We are currently seeking an expert to join the international enforcement team. The primary duties involve preparing cases related to international enforcement, including transfers of prison sentences and community sanctions between Finland, the Nordic countries, and EU states. Tasks include conducting transfer assessments and preparing decisions and proposals related to transfers. The expert will also prepare international arrest warrants for decision. The role involves contact with authorities in Finland and abroad. It requires the ability to operate smoothly in international cooperation and proficiency in Finnish, Swedish, and especially English. The expert will work as part of the international enforcement team and collaborate closely within the team and with other authorities. The position is independent and responsible. The expert plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy of prepared cases. The expert will also participate in describing and developing international enforcement processes.
