Material Management Specialist, Team Lead - KONE Oyj - Hyvinkää, Finland

KONE Elevator Factory is an elevator design, manufacturing and distribution unit located in Hyvinkää, Finland. It is part of the global KONE Manufacturing Network and Supply Unit’s organization. The factory supplies special elevator solutions to end-users worldwide, including office buildings, hotels, hospitals, and large projects like cruisers and airports. We are seeking a Material Management Specialist, team lead, responsible for ensuring the factory has access to necessary materials and inputs. The role involves daily purchasing activities, supplier performance monitoring, and close cooperation with production, supply project management, sourcing, and logistics. The team lead manages the Project and Special Material Management team, overseeing work planning, performance, coaching, and HR topics. The role reports to the Material Manager of Hyvinkää Manufacturing Unit. Key responsibilities include managing special material purchases, coordinating daily activities, working with suppliers, collaborating with internal stakeholders, guiding the team, monitoring performance, assigning tasks, balancing workload, motivating the team, developing work methods, and reporting progress. Requirements include a M.Sc or B.Sc degree in a relevant field, three years of supervisory experience, project leadership experience, prior purchasing or sourcing experience, team leadership skills, excellent communication in Finnish and English, decision-making ability, problem-solving skills, proactive work style, and task prioritization skills.
