Job Description

PiBond is building a new R&D team, and we are looking for a Senior Formulation Scientist. You will take development projects from first concept to finished product, working at the intersection of siloxane chemistry and the electronic applications that power the semiconductor industry. We are one of the few companies in the world that develops and manufactures ultra-high-purity siloxane and metal-oxide materials used by leading semiconductor foundries at the most advanced nodes. This is a rare chance to do deep technical work that ships into real, cutting-edge devices — alongside colleagues who care as much about the science as you do. The role As a Senior Formulation Scientist, you will own product development end to end — designing die attach materials from scratch, refining them, and carrying them through to manufacturing and scale-up. Day to day, you will: Plan, execute, and report formulation work, and drive new products from concept to launch. Diagnose and resolve issues in analysis and production and develop new testing methods when none exist. Design experiments to identify and eliminate failure modes, and to improve the reliability and stability of existing products. Research, evaluate, and order the raw materials your projects need. Scale products up from the lab toward production. Work hands-on in the lab with the team, from paste production through to material testing. The role involves occasional travel to customer sites or PiBonds other facilities. What you bring Must-haves: * Packaging materials, such as MUF, CUF and die attach materials. * Siloxane and metal-oxide chemistry. Proven experience with both — these are core to our technology. * Full product lifecycle. A track record across R&D, manufacturing, scale-up, product characterization, and failure-mode analysis. * Depth of experience. 10–15 years of industrial experience in die attach and siloxane-based materials R&D and production. * Lab capability. Able to work efficiently and practically in the lab, from formulation to testing, as part of a team. * Languages. Fluent English and Finnish. Nice-to-haves: * Experience across a range of polymer chemistries beyond siloxanes. * Equipment know-how spanning paste production to material testing. * IT and programming skills for data collection and automated data analysis. * Experience guiding trainees, laborants, or chemists. What we offer A meaningful, senior role in a high-tech, international, and fast-growing company with real room to grow. At PiBond you can take genuine ownership, shape how things are done, and help define this role so it fits you. We offer a supportive, low-hierarchy culture with a strong focus on development — and the chance to see your work reach some of the most advanced electronics in the world. About PiBond PiBond develops and manufactures advanced chemical materials for the global semiconductor industry. Based in Espoo, Finland, we combine cutting-edge material technology with our own patented innovations to serve leading international electronics companies. Following a recent facility expansion, we are scaling both our production capacity and our team. Interested? Apply by 10thof July. We review applications and begin interviews on a rolling basis throughout the application period — so if this sounds like you, dont wait. Apply today.
