Job Description
A full-time language-aware substitute teacher position is available at Kaarina's Hovirinnan School for the academic years 2026-2027. The language-aware teacher will primarily be responsible for S2 instruction at Hovirinnan School and will serve as a consultative teacher for Kaarina city, working alongside another language-aware teacher. The position mainly involves grades 3-6. Our city’s work is based on shared values of openness, courage, and community. In our shared school building, there is also Swedish-language basic education. Our school values are safety, respect, well-being, and learning. The selected candidate must meet the qualification requirements set out in the Decree 986/98 for class teachers. Preference is given to those with special education and/or SUK/S2 teaching qualifications and/or experience in these roles, as well as readiness to work across all primary school grades. In the absence of qualified applicants, non-qualified candidates will also be considered. The candidate should have an understanding of language- and culture-sensitive teaching. Experience related to preparatory basic education is considered an advantage. We value versatile skills to support students with different needs and expertise in pedagogical documentation. Due to our school’s operational culture, commitment to teamwork and co-teaching is required. Good interaction skills and collaboration with families are appreciated. Up-to-date ICT skills are valued, as well as enthusiasm for developing teaching and learning environments. The terms of employment are based on the OVTES collective agreement, following class teacher working conditions (OPV 24). Salary for full teaching duties depends on qualifications, approximately €3,099-€3,450/month plus possible supplements.
