Youth Worker (Detective Youth Worker) - Sotkamon kunta - Sotkamo, Finland

We are seeking a temporary detective youth worker for the period from August 24, 2026, to August 31, 2027. Detective youth work is specialized youth work aimed at reaching under 29-year-olds who are outside education or employment or need support to access necessary services. It offers early support through a multidisciplinary network and aims to strengthen the young person's skills to progress in life. Applicants must have the ability to engage with young people in difficult life situations. The role requires good communication skills, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, and the ability to work independently. The position also requires the ability to assess clients' resources and social situation, as well as motivation and guidance skills. Detective youth work is carried out independently with clients and in teamwork with another youth worker and other youth services staff. A driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are essential due to the nature of the work. The work is mobile and includes some evening and weekend work. Eligibility requires suitable education and familiarity with youth work. Experience working with young people is valued. Responsibility, customer service orientation, flexibility, and a positive attitude facilitate the performance of duties. Salary and working hours are determined according to the Collective Agreement (KVTES). The appointment includes a four (4) month probation period. Interviews will be conducted separately, and we may interview applicants during the application period. The selected candidate must provide a medical certificate of health and a criminal record extract related to working with children, as required by the Criminal Records Act, Section 6, subsection 2.
