Antinkangas School is looking for an enthusiastic and warm-hearted school assistant for a fixed-term substitute position in a demanding support special class for students with disabilities for the academic year 2026-2027, from August 12, 2026, to June 4, 2027. Job Description As a school assistant, you will be involved in students' school days by supporting, guiding, and assisting them during lessons, breaks, and transition situations. You will work closely with the special class teacher and other guides. The goal is to create a safe, encouraging, and smooth learning environment where each student is seen as a unique individual. What do we expect from you? Relevant education and experience: A vocational qualification in school attendance and morning and afternoon activity guidance, a practical nurse qualification, or other suitable education in the field of education and social services is considered an advantage. Previous experience in demanding special support or disability education is also a significant advantage. Interpersonal skills: You welcome students with a big heart, patience, and a flexible attitude. Clear speech and the ability to use alternative communication methods (e.g., pictures, sign language) are an advantage. Team skills: Work in a demanding support class is at its best as teamwork – we value good interaction skills and the ability to work together harmoniously. Eligibility requirements The qualification requirement is a vocational qualification in school attendance and morning and afternoon activity guidance, previously a school assistant qualification, or an equivalent qualification. If there are no qualified applicants, the fixed-term position can also be filled by a person without the required qualification. Original certificates proving eligibility must be presented during the interview. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 before starting the position. Employment relationship The terms of employment are governed by the municipal general collective agreement (KVTES). A probationary period applies, determined by the duration of the fixed-term employment.
