Researcher / Product Development Engineer - Forcit Group - Ylöjärvi, Finland

We are now seeking a Researcher / Product Development Engineer to work as part of Forcit and the Defence Forces Research Institute (PVTUTKL) on energetic materials cooperation structures. The role is permanent, with a start date ideally in September-October 2026. The main responsibilities include testing and analyzing energetic materials, technical background studies, literature reviews, project planning, implementation, and reporting. You will participate in joint research projects with PVTUTKL and Forcit, working within the R&D team and collaborating closely with project stakeholders. Reporting to the R&D Manager of Forcit Defence, success in this role requires a background in chemistry, physics, or materials research, proactive, independent, and organized working style, good collaboration skills, and proficiency in Finnish and English. Experience in research or product development is an advantage, as is knowledge of materials engineering and interest in energetic materials. Flexibility regarding work location is required, with initial training at Hangon factory, then primarily working in Ylöjärvi, with plans to move to Hanko after three years. Key tasks include laboratory research, designing and executing testing and analysis arrangements, reporting, and developing analytics.
