The City of Rovaniemi is seeking a primary school teacher for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The position is located at Ounasvaaran School. The fixed-term is due to a temporary replacement. Subjects to be taught include Evangelical Lutheran religion and history. The qualification requirement is a valid teacher qualification, in accordance with the decree (986/1998) on the qualifications of education personnel. If no qualified applicants are available, teaching may be assigned to a person with sufficient education and skills required for the task. We expect the selected candidate to have good cooperation and interaction skills, versatile and student-centered pedagogical expertise, and the ability to participate in the development of the school's activities. Salary and employment terms are determined according to the municipal sector's collective agreement for teaching staff. The basic salary according to the pay scale at the start of employment is between €2,535.03 and €3,390.01, depending on the applicant's qualifications. Additionally, a performance-based salary supplement may be paid. The position is subject to a six (6) month probation period. The selected candidate must submit a criminal record extract related to working with children (504/2002) for review.
