Job Description
We are seeking an occupational therapist for a temporary position from July 1 to November 30, 2026, at HUS Children and Youth Diseases Rehabilitation Unit. The Rehabilitation Unit for Children and Youth Diseases provides services to pediatric and adolescent patients at four hospitals. The occupational therapist works in multidisciplinary teams across outpatient clinics and wards, assessing the functional capacity of children and adolescents with neurological, pediatric, and orthopedic conditions. Based on assessments, individual occupational therapy goals, assistive devices, orthoses, and rehabilitation plans are developed in collaboration with the child/youth, family, and other professionals involved in rehabilitation. Our aim is to provide high-quality occupational therapy services in accordance with good rehabilitation practices. Professional collaboration and training are integral to the team of 13 occupational therapists in the Rehabilitation Unit. The occupational therapy services are provided to pediatric and adolescent patients at four hospitals. Successful performance in this role requires good collaboration and communication skills, the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, independent work skills, and a proactive attitude: you are eager to learn new things but also willing to contribute your ideas to the work community. The role requires interest, familiarity, and experience with assessment methods in pediatric occupational therapy, as well as experience and additional training in rehabilitation planning. We require working in client and patient areas to be protected against infectious diseases according to the Communicable Diseases Act, and health status verification for tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units.
