We are hiring nurses for the anesthesia and surgical unit at Meilahti Siltasairaala for permanent positions. The work begins on 1 October 2026 or as agreed. Nursing duties include anesthesia and/or surgical nursing tasks. The core responsibilities of a surgical nurse involve instrumenting and monitoring roles. Anesthesia nurses work in the operating room, recovery room, and outside the operating unit in anesthesia work. The work is three-shift, including on-call duties. The operation of the anesthesia and surgical unit at Siltasairaala is strongly emergency-driven with 24/7 activity. Operationally, we are divided into two modules by specialty. The Orthopedics and Traumatology module primarily treats patients in orthopedics, traumatology, hand surgery, plastic surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The Neurosurgery module handles patients undergoing brain and spinal cord surgeries. Common to both are patients undergoing spinal and spinal cord surgeries. Additionally, we provide anesthesia services outside the operating unit. The goal is for you to develop deep expertise in the second module's tasks and gradually familiarize yourself with the core tasks of the other module as either an anesthesia or surgical nurse. Previous experience in surgical nursing and competence in surgical unit care are required. Work requires ability to work in both modules. Furthermore, we expect excellent professional and teamwork skills, as work is carried out in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams around the clock. Our nurses are involved in developing operations, and we value an active, development-oriented, and flexible attitude. Qualifications for the position Licensed nurse. Proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written) is required, and proficiency in Swedish (spoken and written) is either good or satisfactory, or vice versa. We require that those working in patient and customer areas have vaccination protection according to infectious disease law, and those working in healthcare units have a health status report for tuberculosis. Salary Salary is determined according to the SOTE agreement. The position-specific salary is based on the upcoming level pay model S3TVA1 A-level, which is at least €3,218.18/month.
