Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Management Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Vaasa, Finland. This role involves leading and coordinating engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards within the energy sector. Lead and manage all technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery. Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, suppliers, contractors, and clients. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation to management and clients. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes. Oversee the design, development, and testing phases of engineering solutions. Manage project documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, and change orders. Conduct site visits and inspections as required to monitor project progress and address technical challenges. Your background includes a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field), solid experience in project management within an engineering or industrial environment, preferably in the energy sector, proven experience in managing complex technical projects from initiation to closure, strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 certification is a plus), experience with network calculations and the ability to define or verify electrical network and substation design parameters, excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment, fluency in Finnish and English language (both written and spoken), strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to travel as required for project needs.
