The Central Ostrobothnia Welfare Area's fire department is recruiting for a position to be filled by June 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Office Secretary Position The Central Ostrobothnia Welfare Area Soite consists of the eight municipalities of Central Ostrobothnia, with a total population of approximately 68,000. The Central Ostrobothnia Fire Department provides emergency services from thirteen fire stations in the area. A skilled and motivated staff is our key resource. Job Description We are seeking an office secretary to join our team. Your tasks will include a variety of duties in the following areas: secretarial tasks within the fire department's jurisdiction, as well as payroll, finance, document management, and human resources tasks. Requirements The eligibility criteria for the position include a relevant degree/training and sufficient work experience in the field. The selected candidate will also undergo a drug test in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Privacy in Working Life (759/2004). A brief security clearance will be conducted with the candidate's consent (Security Clearance Act 726/2014). During employment, the individual will be subject to ongoing personal security monitoring in accordance with the security clearance. The successful candidate must hold a valid official identification document issued by the police (identity card or passport) during the employment period. Preferred Qualifications Excellent oral and written skills in Finnish, as well as good oral and written skills in Swedish. Previous experience as an office secretary or other relevant work experience is valued. This experience includes document management, understanding of payroll administration and salary formation, financial management skills, or human resources expertise. Prior experience in the rescue sector is considered an advantage. Success in the role requires good communication and collaboration skills, as well as computer skills in using various systems (e.g., Tuve, Dynasty, Unit4, Vartti-piste, Office tools) and the ability to learn new skills in a changing environment. Additional Information The permanent position begins on June 15, 2026, or by agreement. Acceptance of the position must be reported within 14 days of the decision becoming final. The position has a six-month probation period. It is a full-time position with a 36.25-hour workweek. The monthly salary is €2,683.80. The work location is at the Kokkolan fire station, as agreed.
