Production Manager - Apetit Ruoka Oy - Kirkkonummi, Finland

We are seeking a Production Manager for our vegetable oil refinery located in Kantvik, Kirkkonummi. The role involves overseeing production management, development, and efficiency. Apetit is a Finnish food company that makes plant-based eating a delicious part of everyday life. We operate in close cooperation with primary producers in our domestic markets of Finland and Sweden. Apetit creates health benefits from vegetables by developing tasty plant-based food solutions and oilseed products, helping to simplify everyday life in all kinds of kitchens. At our oil refinery in Kantvik, we process high-quality rapeseed and rapeseed seed into Apetit vegetable oils, Öpex feed press cake, and the new food product BlackGrain rapeseed meal. The core of production is mechanical pressing and physical refining. We are Finland’s largest processor and packer of food oils. About 60 employees work in the oil business at Apetit. Your responsibilities As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the processes of oil and press cake production, their continuous development, and product quality. You will lead the operational activities in close cooperation with other parts of the organization, such as maintenance, quality control, and commercial functions. Your key responsibilities include: - Overall safety of production, including personnel safety - Supply chain management: raw material needs, production planning, capacities, inventory, and deliveries - Promoting process cost-efficiency, environmental friendliness, and the adoption of new technologies - Participating in planning plant investments and maintenance together with various stakeholders - Ensuring customer quality, product safety, and compliance of sold products - Managing production organization resourcing and employment matters in cooperation with corporate HR functions - Participating in necessary research and development projects The refinery is located in Kantvik, near the Helsinki metropolitan area. Work is performed on-site. What we expect from you You will succeed if you have experience in results-oriented production management within the food, feed, chemical, or other process industries. We value strong safety and quality-oriented thinking, leadership skills, and curiosity for continuous development. You should have a suitable technical education, such as a process or chemical engineering degree (MSc or BSc) or food science, or equivalent. Previous experience in a relevant field is a prerequisite for success in this role. The role requires a planned and goal-oriented work approach, good collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to operate at both operational and strategic levels. Previous strong achievements in process development, investments, or personnel projects are considered an advantage.
