University Researcher (Clinician-Researcher) - Tampereen yliopisto - Remote - Global

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology conducts high-quality multidisciplinary research and education in biomedicine, biotechnology, medicine, and health technology. We perform internationally significant basic and applied research. The Foundation for Pediatric Research has played a significant role in elevating Finnish pediatric research to the top of the world. It has donated a total of 1.35 million euros to the universities of Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Oulu, and Eastern Finland to fund pediatric researchers, ensuring that many clinicians can engage in scientific research. With this donation, we are seeking one or two part-time clinical researchers for a one-year fixed-term position. The tasks are filled as university researcher roles. The position can be part-time or intermittent, with 20–50% of the total working time dedicated to research annually. The aim is to enable the combination of clinical work and research, focusing on pediatric, neurological, surgical, psychiatric, or adolescent psychiatric expertise, and to establish or strengthen a research team with additional funding. The work involves clinical work at the Tampere University Hospital or other health care units, with details agreed separately. Requirements include a medical degree, evidence of independent research post-PhD, leadership ability, and proficiency in Finnish and English. The position starts on September 1, 2026, or as agreed, with a salary based on the university's collective agreement, and includes benefits such as flexible working, sports and culture benefits, and comprehensive health services.
