Full-time High School Physical Education and Health Teacher - Limingan kunta - Liminka, Finland

Liminka Municipality's Education Services is seeking a full-time teacher for high school physical education and health. The position is based at Liminka High School and Liminka Lahti School. The duties include teaching high school physical education and health, as well as physical education at the comprehensive school level. The contract is temporary, from August 10, 2026, to June 5, 2027. Liminka High School has approximately 350 students and 20 staff members. The school operates with a student-centered approach. The facilities are located in a renovated high school building in the center of Liminka. The institution has several development areas where staff can take on roles and responsibilities based on their interests. As a regional feature, we offer studies in English and Finnish lines with a CLIL pedagogical approach. We value applicants with experience in high school teaching, knowledge of curriculum reform and national development of high school education, proficiency in information and communication technology applications, and a motivated and positive mindset. The position may include special tasks depending on the applicant's suitability and experience. The role requires initiative, flexibility, a student-centered working style, and the ability to gain students' trust. We hope applicants have an interest in some of our focus areas: international activities and bilingual education, entrepreneurship education, team-based high school activities, and STEAM pedagogy. Qualifications are based on the Act on Qualifications for Teaching Staff (986/1998). Before confirmation of employment, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children, issued within 30 days of the decision.
