Special Education Teacher/Teacher in Early Childhood Education - Pomarkun kunta - Pomarkku, Finland

We are hiring a temporary special education teacher in early childhood education for the period from August 17, 2026, to June 30, 2027. As a special education teacher in early childhood education, you will be responsible, together with other educational staff, for planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing early childhood education for children requiring support. The goal is to support children's participation in group activities, foster success experiences, and enable inclusion within the child group. Observation, documentation, continuous assessment, and development of activities are integral parts of everyone's work. As a special education teacher, you will be responsible for the pedagogical implementation within your team in collaboration with other professionals. We expect applicants to have a strong pedagogical approach, warm interaction with children and guardians, and good communication skills. Flexibility and a positive attitude towards work are also desired. The qualification requirement for the position of special education teacher is based on the Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018, section 30: Qualification as an early childhood education teacher, with additional professional studies in special education as prescribed by government regulation; or A master's degree in education with a major in special pedagogy (early childhood special education training). If there are no applicants meeting the qualification requirements, we will consider qualified early childhood education teachers (Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018, section 26) or those who are about to graduate. The selected person must present a criminal background check issued within the law 504/2002 concerning working with children. The position is subject to a four (4) month probationary period.
